Join Us Thursday, January 24th for “17 Years at War: A Conversation with General Stanley McChrystal”

On Thursday, January 24th at 5:00 pm please join the Triangle Center on Terrorism and Homeland Security, the Duke Program in American Grand Strategy, the Sanford School of Public Policy, and Professor David Schanzer as he leads a conversation with General Stanley McChrystal about the United States since 9/11.
A transformational leader with a remarkable record of achievement, General Stanley A. McChrystal was called “one of America’s greatest warriors” by Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. A retired four-star general, he is the former commander of U.S. and International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF) Afghanistan and the former commander of the premier military counter-terrorism force, Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC). He is best known for developing and implementing the counter-insurgency strategy in Afghanistan, and for creating a comprehensive counter-terrorism organization that revolutionized the interagency operating culture.
A public Q & A will follow.
The event will be held at Duke’s Sanford School of Public Policy in the Fleishman Commons.
The event is free and open to the public, and no tickets are required. Parking available at the Bryan Center Parking Deck.
We hope you will join us or follow along for this special event!
This lecture was originally planned in September but was cancelled due to Hurricane Florence.
