Muslim-American Involvement with Violent Extremism, 2001-2020

The annual report by UNC-Chapel Hill professor Charles Kurzman shows that Muslim-American violent extremism hit historic lows in 2020.
David Schanzer, director of the Triangle Center on Terrorism and Homeland Security, said, “There is now zero doubt that, inside the United States, multiple forms of right-wing terrorism have eclipsed the threat presented by groups and individuals inspired by al Qaeda, ISIS and like-minded groups.”
